Antique Edwardian 15ct gold ruby diamond novelty fox head brooch, c1905, original presentation case. 18ct Yellow gold bar brooch with novelty fox head. The fox head being encrusted with pave set old cut & rose cut diamonds. Total diamond weight, 0.23ct approximately. The eyes being round cut ruby cabochons. Rose gold hinge pin to verso & safety chain. Not marked but tested as 15ct gold. Complete with fitted leatherette presentation case. To the inner satin lid reads " By Appointment Edward & Sons Ltd. Diamond Merchants 92 Buchanan Street, Glasgow". Edward & Sons Ltd were founded by George Edward in 1839. They ended by joining the Mappin & Webb empire. A fabulous addition to add to any collection. Condition.
Some small marks to the underside of the bar brooch which can be seen in the photographs, this does not detract from the overall beauty of this piece. Apart from that, both brooch & case are in excellent condition.
