Antique English Georgian solid sterling silver snuff box. Rectangular shaped box with plain sides & a stepped band border at the top & bottom. Beautiful fine detail bright cut hand chased decoration on the top & the underside with a rectangular cartouche in the centre of the top. The cartouche has previously been monogrammed & mostly polished out however it has not reduced the thickness of the silver lid. I have checked this with a micrometer. A nicely fitting hinged lid with a very good quality tight hinge on the back. Gilt lined interior & hallmarked on the inside of the lid & the base. Lovely collectors item.
