Description
Antique English Victorian solid sterling silver vesta case. Retangular shaped case with beautiful hand chased foliate decoration on the back & front & an unusual cross running from corner to corner on both sides. A circular shaped cartouche on the front which is monogrammed & dated with the same date as the hallmark. On the top is a suspension loop & ring & a match striker on the bottom. Nice tight hinged lid at the top with original leaf spring inside. Fully hallmarked on the inside of the inside rim. I don't normally tend to buy silver that is monogrammed but I made an exception with is vesta case because of the unusual design, dated inscription & the excellent clean example the case is in. Lovely collectors item.
