Description
Antique Georgian 18ct gold citrine half pearl locket back ring, c1800. A central oval cut citrine surrounded by 12 half pearls, crimped collet set in 18ct gold. The citrine being foil backed & due to age giving a lovely sleepy pale champagne colour. The citrine measures 10mm x 8mm approximately. The shoulders slightly split with fleur de lis decoration leading to the shank. At the center back of the gallery is a locket compartment where a loved ones plaited hair would have been. Sadly the glass (rock crystal) is missing, as is most often the case with a ring of this age. The hallmark is rubbed & only the assay office mark & the crown is just visible but tested as 18ct gold. A fantastic example. With gift box. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the overall description.
