Description
Antique Indian solid sterling silver trinket box. Oval shaped box, with hand chased decoration to all around the outside of the bottom of the box. Hinged lid with a stepped edge to the top, having a sleeping lion with fine hand chased decoration for his mane & face. The lion has a moving tongue. Stamped to the inside base 925. This box would have been made in the Kota Bundi region (village in India) towards the end of the 18th century. An absolutely fabulous piece to add to any collection. Lovely collectors item.
