Antique Sampson Mordan Solid Silver Combination Propelling Pencil/Dip Pen, 1872
Antique solid sterling silver combination propelling pencil/dip pen. Cylindrical shaped body with engine turned decoration around the outside & a monogrammed cartouche on the side. At the bottom end is a plain stepped band & at the top is a removable screw top end with an inside top small compartment for storing spare leads. On either side of the body is a round sliding button, one extends & retracts the internal propelling pencil & the other extends & retracts the internal propelling dip pen. The pencil has a twist action tip which extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. All the mechanisms are in excellent working order. The pencil comes complete with a lead in the tip. The pencil is fully hallmarked on the side of the body. Lovely collectors item.
