Antique Solid Silver Combination Propelling Pencil/Dip Pen, (William Vale, 1890)
Antique Victorian solid sterling silver combination propelling pencil/dip pen. Hexagonal shaped body with beautiful bright cut hand chased foliate decoration around the outside & a vacant cartouche on the side. At the bottom end is a plain stepped band & at the top is a suspension loop & ring. On either side of the body is a sliding button, one extends & retracts the internal propelling pencil & the other extends & retracts the internal propelling dip pen. The pencil has a twist action tip which extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. All the mechanisms are in excellent working order. The pencil comes complete with a lead in the tip. The pencil is fully hallmarked on the side of the body. Lovely collectors item.
