A very fine & rare antique Victorian solid sterling silver novelty propelling pencil in the form of a hand bell. Pulling the bell & the handle extends the pencil & the internal pencil tip. The pencil tip has a twist action which extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. Both mechanisms are in excellent working order. The pencil comes complete with a pencil lead in the tip. The pencil is unmarked but is almost certainly made by Sampson Mordan & co, only this maker was making such quality novelty pencils at this time. Lovely collectors item.
