Antique Victorian 15ct gold elephant hair buckle ring, c1880. Hair from an elephant's tail making the 5 strands set in a 15ct gold band in the form of a belt finished with a buckle. In Victorian times elephant hair symbolized strength & beauty. To the wearer to obtain good fortune & protect from illness & harm. This piece is stamped but the mark is very rubbed & unreadable. This piece has tested as 15ct gold.
