Description

Antique Victorian 9ct gold almandine garnet & seed pearl ring, (Birmingham, 1882). 4 Beautiful almandine garnets set to the centre of the gallery with 3 seed pearls either side. All stones are claw set. Finished with fine hand chasing to the shoulders & shank. A fine example. Complete with original presentation case, which has the name of the jeweller on the inside of the lid, (The Empire's Largest Jeweller H.Samuel, Market Street, Manchester). In 1862 Harriet Samuel took over her Father in law's clock making business in Liverpool & renamed it H. Samuel, moved the business to Market Street, Manchester, where she ran the company as a mail order buisness.

Condition.

Part of the hand chasing on the shank has been worn away which is not uncommon in a ring of this age & can be seen in the photographs. Excellent condition with light surface marks that are consistent with genuine age, use & polishing.
