Antique Victorian 9ct gold propelling pencil. Hexagonal shaped body with beautiful bright cut hand chased foliate decoration around the outside & a vacant cartouche on the side. Plain stepped band at the tip end & a removable screw top tapering top end with repousse foliate decoration & inset with a shield shaped bloodstone gemstone seal cap. Around the centre is a plain sliding band extends & retracts the internal propelling pencil tip. The pencil tip has a twist action which when twisted extends & retracts the internal pencil lead mechanism. Both mechanisms are in excellent working condition. The pencil comes complete with a lead in the tip & three spare leads in the top compartment. The pencil is marked on the side with the makers mark & 9ct for 9ct gold. Lovely collectors item.
