Antique Victorian Sampson Mordan Solid Silver Propelling Pencil, 1865
Antique Victorian solid sterling silver propelling pencil. Cylindrical shaped body with engine turned decoration around the outside. At the bottom end is a plain stepped band & at the top is a circular shaped plain removable screw top with an inset milky jade gemstone cap seal on the end. Inside the top is a small revolver/pepper pot compartment for storing spare leads. In the centre is a sliding band which extends & retracts the internal pencil mechanism. The pencil has a twist action tip which extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. Both pencil mechanisms are in excellent working order.
