Antique Victorian Silver Plated Bachelors Coffee Set (John Gilbert & Co, c1880)
A rare example of an antique Victorian silver plated bachelors coffee set (possibly in the style of Christopher Dresser). The set consists of a coffee pot, a cream jug & a sugar bowl all in a small size as intended to be used by a single person. Each piece is of oval plain tapering form with the coffee pot having a wicker covered scrolled handle, pouring spout & box joint hinged lid. The sugar bowl has a scrolled handle on either side & the cream jug has a matching handle & pouring spout. Stamped on the underside with the makers mark. Lovely collectors item.

Coffee Pot : - 158mm x 82mm x 150mm
Excellent condition with light surface marks that are consistent with genuine age, use & polishing. There is one very minor ding on either & some of the surface scratches are just a little heavy, but only to be expected on a set this age. There is no loss of silver plating.
