Description
Antique Victorian silver thimble & leather case, c1900, Bristol interest. Sterling silver thimble with fine hand chased decoration. Not marked but tested as silver. Complete with it's original leather case. The case having hook fastening & the inside still with it's original satin & blue velvet linings. On the outer base of the case a red leather label with gold writing "Miller, Park Street Viaduct, Bristol". In the Western Daily Press, Thursday 13th December 1900, there was an advertisement for Miller, advertising "remarkably low prices for Christmas presents, novelties & brass goods, every variety from the best makers". This advertisement can be found on The British Newspaper Archive. A great addition to a collection.
