Description
Antique Victorian solid silver Chinese Export nurse's buckle, Cum Shing, c1880. Rectangular shaped buckle, made in two halves with high quality intricate repousse & fine hand chased decoration to the front with dragons & a flaming pearl. The central panels having Chinese calligraphy. Hook clip fastening with belt loops attached to verso. Stamped with the maker's mark & accompanied by Chinese character marks. Cum Shing was one of the major Chinese export silver smiths in Canton (Guangzhou), he operated during the Qing Dynasty. Lovely collectors item.
