Description
Antique English Georgian solid sterling silver snuff box. Curved rectangular shaped box with a concealed hinged lid & thumb piece to the top. Engraved with a winged serpent "Egyptian symbol" to the top & underside, fine hand chased decoration all round. Egyptian revival design was a trend which followed Napoleon's campaign in Egypt in the early 1800's. Common motifs were winged serpents & other winged figures. Gilt lined interior having full hallmarks.  A fabulously rare piece from the Georgian era. Lovely collectors item.
