Rare Antique Sampson Mordan Novelty Birds Egg Propelling Pencil, c1880
Very rare antique Victorian novelty propelling pencil in the form of a Cuckoo birds egg. Porcelain painted body with a solid silver suspension loop & ring on the top. Pulling out the suspension extends the pencil tip at the bottom which has a twist action tip that extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. Both mechanisms are in excellent working order. The pencil comes complete with a pencil lead in the tip. The pencil is stamped at the top of the internal pencil with the makers marks. Lovely collectors item.
