A rare antique Victorian solid sterling silver novelty propelling pencil in the form of a nut or seed. Cylindrical shaped silver pencil body with a suspension loop & ring at the top through a round brown styled nut. Pulling the top suspension ring section extends the pencil & the internal pencil tip. The pencil tip has a twist action which extends & retracts the pencil lead mechanism. Both mechanisms are in excellent working condition. The pencil comes complete with a pencil lead in the tip. Although the pencil is unmarked it is almost certainly made by Sampson Mordan & Co due to the quality of the mechanism & the centre is made & tested from solid sterling silver. Lovely collectors item.
