The Queens Beasts spoons, solid silver & gilt , set of 10, uncased (R.Comyns). Each spoon has a solid silver bowl & stem, & is finished on the end with a beautifully detailed silver gilt figural finial. Each spoon is fully hallmarked on the back of the handle & has the lion passant in the bowl. These apostle spoons, the "Queen's Beasts" were commissioned as statues to stand outside Westminster Abbey for the Queen's coronation in 1953. Lovely collectors item.
