A very fine high quality vintage English solid sterling silver powder compact. Square shaped compact with rounded corners & chamfered edges. The compact is entirely decorated around the outside with engine turned decoration. On the top of the lid is a raised circular enamel picture of a Bulldog dog. On the front is a solid rose gold thumb catch to lift the lid which is hinged by a very fine quality secret hinge on the back. Inside is a bevel edged mirror with silver gilt surround in the lid & a gilt lined powder well in which the powder pad sits. Fully hallmarked on the inside rim. Lovely collectors item. With gift box.
